The in-person exam can be filed with medical insurance (not vision). The patient may be responsible for any deductibles or copays. Vision insurance is not accepted due to extremely low reimbursement rates and the time needed for custom in-home eye exams. Medical insurances that are accepted include: Medicare, Medicaid, United Healthcare, Anthem BCBS, and Aetna. If a patient would like to pay out-of-pocket, a new patient eye exam is $150 and an existing patient eye exam is $125.
For virtual online appointments, the patient is responsible for the cost and it is not billed to insurance. A new patient virtual consult is $70 and an existing patient virtual consult is $50 for up to 30 minutes of doctor time. Information such as the patient's medical history, medications, and allergies will also be obtained prior to the virtual exam at no additional charge.
